According to actress Khaing Hnin Wai, the Khaing Hnin Wai Foundation donated K3 million per household to 155 flood-affected families in Kalaw Township, Shan State, on 23 September.
“We provided nearly K500 million in total, with K3 million given to each of the 155 households in Kalaw Township. Following the advice of the Mashikhana Sayadaw, we also donated K1 billion to flood-affected villages in Kalaw, Nyaungshwe, Inlay, and Shwenyaung,” said Khaing Hnin Wai.
Khaing Hnin Wai reportedly required two injections after being bitten by a venomous creature during her visit to Kalaw, where she was planning to purchase land for squatters.
The Khaing Hnin Wai Foundation has announced that it had received around K1.7 billion in flood relief donations as of 22 September.
