Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon, along with other cities, welcomed 2025 with thousands of revellers counting down to the new year.
People were crowded at People’s Square in Yangon starting yesterday afternoon, and pilgrims visited the Shwedagon Pagoda.
At the 2025 New Year Countdown Festival stage, well-known singers, artistes, DJs and dance groups performed for visitors. Over 100 stalls of food and souvenirs were established at the event site.
At midnight, all the New Year revellers made a New Year countdown chanting Happy New Year and cheering at colourful fireworks. The people were satisfied with a free transport system.
