SUBVERSIVE media outlets circulated false reports claiming that security forces conducted drone attacks on Mahtugyi and Mahtulay villages in Kalewa Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in three civilian deaths and four injuries.
An official from the security forces clarified the situation, stating that these allegations are baseless. According to the official, PDF terrorists were observed moving in groups near Mahtugyi village. Acting on a tip-off from a conscientious local who opposes terrorist activities, security forces conducted necessary measures. The operation successfully caused terrorists to retreat. There were no drone attacks on either village.
The official further noted that the spread of such misinformation appears to be an attempt by malicious media to create distrust between the local population and security forces, whose primary duty is to ensure territorial security.
