Myanmar, Norwegian and Danish Red Cross Societies have jointly provided financial assistance and consumer goods to over 5,000 displaced people in Sagaing Region in November, according to the Myanmar Red Cross Society (Headquarters).

In this assistance, 5,139 displaced people in Sagaing Region were provided with K70,000 each and non-food items (NFI).

In addition, 1,581 temporarily displaced households were provided with 1,581 blankets, 1,581 mosquito nets, 996 mats, 2,527 tarpaulin sheets, 1,581 solar lanterns, 11 boxes of sanitary pads, 196 bags of toys to support children’s emotional development, 60 boxes of baby wipes, 1,581 boxes of drinking water (jelly cans), 1,581 pairs of shoes, 1,198 male hygiene products and 1,389 female hygiene products.

Similarly, mobile Red Cross clinics were opened at monasteries and neighbouring religious centres from 6 to 23 November for displaced people who had difficulty accessing medical care, providing medical treatment to 2,895 people and health education to 481 people. The financial and humanitarian aid including the medical assistance programme was supported by the Norwegian Red Cross, and the non-food assistance programme by the Danish Red Cross.
