The 23rd Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners’ Conference and Myanmar Traditional Medicine Seminar, held at the Myanmar International Convention Centre II (MICC II) in Nay Pyi Taw, continued yesterday.
The conference was chaired by Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win in the morning and by Deputy Minister Dr Aye Tun in the afternoon.
Dr Thet Khaing Win urged the delegates, traditional medicine practitioners, and related experts attending the conference to cooperate, discuss, and collaborate to provide valuable support for the new generation of professionals in the development of Myanmar’s traditional medicine.
Delegates from states and regions presented proposals on various aspects of traditional medicine, with fellow delegates seconding the motions.
Next, the video message of State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the opening speech of State Administration Council Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win at the 23rd Myanmar Traditional Medicine Practitioners’ Conference and Seminar were recorded and adopted as working guidelines by the conference.
Afterwards, 13 papers on traditional medicine, treatment methods, and medicines were presented. The seminar attendees asked questions, discussed the papers, and made suggestions, exchanging knowledge in the process.
In discussing the papers, the chairman emphasized that this seminar is very important as it provides an opportunity to reveal the traditional therapies of various ethnic groups. He also noted that it is crucial to document these practices to ensure they are passed on to future generations and do not disappear.
