TREATING the fight against telecoms fraud and online gambling as a matter of national duty, the Government is systematically demolishing illegal structures in the Shwe Kokko area to prevent them from being used again for scam and gambling operations.
As part of operations targeting the remaining illegal buildings in Shwe Kokko Phase II, heavy machinery has been deployed to dismantle key structures. The demolition of one six-storey building is 90 per cent complete, while work on another six-storey building is 60 per cent complete.
Of the 63 structures targeted for demolition in Shwe Kokko Phase II, the authorities have determined the demolition methods according to building type and surrounding conditions. Four buildings designated for demolition using heavy machinery have been completely demolished. Work on the remaining 55 buildings will continue.
The Government is reportedly stepping up efforts to combat online fraud and gambling as a matter of national responsibility.
