ACCORDING to the Russian Embassy in Myanmar, Russia has handed over more than 530 metric tonnes of sunflower oil as humanitarian aid through the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). Embassy officials inspected WFP warehouses in Yangon and worked with local authorities to plan routes and schedules for systematic distribution across the country. Russia has reportedly confirmed it will continue to support and assist Myanmar not only through direct bilateral aid but also via relevant UN agencies. Russia previously delivered over 250 metric tonnes of sunflower oil to Myanmar in January of this year, according to reports.
