PYITHU Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi met yesterday afternoon with representatives of the All-Myanmar Theravada Buddhist Organization and Border and Hilly Region Sasana Nuggaha Association (Central), Nay Pyi Taw Association for Persons with Disabilities of Myanmar Federation of Persons with Disabilities, who visited on the sixth day of the third regular session of the Third Pyithu Hluttaw, at the Hluttaw Complex.
The Speaker expressed his appreciation for their interest in observing the parliamentary proceedings. He explained that the visit would provide them with knowledge of parliamentary functions, including questioning, submitting proposals and legislation. He also highlighted the three branches after democratic general elections, its bicameral parliamentary system and the role of parliamentary committees in supporting legislative work.
He encouraged the visitors to communicate their regional needs through relevant parliamentary committees and Hluttaw representatives from their constituencies.
