Allcitizens have the chance to pursue education and acquire knowledge and skills. To ensure access to employment opportunities, systematic and appropriate standards must be established, and suitable employment opportunities should be available in accordance with educational qualifications and levels of academic achievement. Everyone should work together to ensure that the required educational levels and qualifications are met for respective occupations.
Only when employment opportunities, salary scales and opportunities for promotion are appropriately aligned with the educational levels attained can young people confidently achieve their aspirations. To develop the skilled and capable human resources needed by Myanmar, relevant ministries are providing not only academic education but also subject-specific training, refresher courses and multiplier training courses tailored to employees’ qualifications, skills and competencies.
By combining academic qualifications with quality-enhancement training, greater opportunities and career prospects can be provided not only for relevant occupations but also for the development of human resources. This will enable qualified human resources to contribute to their own interests and the development of the country across various sectors where they are needed. At present, while the State is making efforts to develop and improve public schools, it is also recognizing the private education sector in accordance with policies and in line with the democratic system.
These students need not only to genuinely acquire the academic knowledge taught at basic education schools and institutions of higher education, such as universities and colleges, but teachers must also place emphasis on providing education that enhances students’ general knowledge and social awareness, while ensuring that they genuinely acquire an education. At the higher education level, students must fulfil the requirements for courses and examinations prescribed for each academic year, as well as the requirements for research and academic papers.
Therefore, in order to enrich students’ knowledge and general understanding, it is necessary to provide basic education schools with the books, publications and various educational materials appropriate to students’ ages and educational levels. Just as such resources are being provided in the public education sector, efforts should also be made in the private education sector, in line with relevant policies, to create opportunities and foster habits of reading books and literature that broaden knowledge and understanding.
In order to produce the quality human resources, both the public and private education sectors must make concerted efforts from all sides and across all sectors to ensure that students not only attain the prescribed levels of education but also become well-educated individuals with broad knowledge and understanding.
