There are 29,109 insured workers in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, who receive healthcare services through three township social security clinics, five fee-for-service clinics, four departmental clinics and a mobile medical unit, according to the Ministry of Labour.
On 19 September, a mobile medical team comprising specialists from workers’ hospitals provided medical treatment, laboratory tests, ECG examinations and necessary medicines to 308 insured workers at the Pyinmana Sugar Mill and 135 insured workers at the Moe Thiri Garment Factory in Pyinmana Township.
Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe, accompanied by Deputy Minister U Maung Maung Than, inspected the mobile medical services provided to workers at the Pyinmana Sugar Mill and met with factory officials, workplace safety and health committee members, labour-management coordination committee members and workers. He discussed measures to effectively address workers’ needs in line with government guidance.
The Union Minister also inspected healthcare services being provided to insured workers at the Moe Thiri Garment Factory and held discussions with factory officials and relevant committees.
The Ministry of Labour provided on-site medical services to 136,130 insured workers during the 2025-2026 financial year and to 58,285 insured workers from April to August 2026. — MNA/KTZH
