ACCORDING to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar participated in the 11th Belt and Road Summit.
The 11th Belt and Road Summit was held in the first week of September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Myanmar Consul-General attended the summit, and an exhibition booth was featured within the ASEAN Zone inside the Global Investment Zone.
Attendees of the 11th Belt and Road Summit visited the exhibition booths in the ASEAN Zone, where they met with representatives from the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s (HKTDC) regional offices in ASEAN, ASEAN consulates-general and associations to explore new business partnership opportunities.
At the Myanmar Consulate-General booth within the ASEAN Zone, brochures on investment opportunities in Myanmar supported by the Ministry of National Planning, Investment and Foreign Economic Relations were displayed, and promotional videos inviting investment in the power generation sector supported by the Ministry of Electricity and Energy were screened. Furthermore, the Economic Attaché addressed inquiries and held discussions with visitors, as reported. — ASH/TH
