ACCORDING to the observations at 6:30 am MST today, due to the monsoon will be moderate over the Andaman Sea and the South Bay of Bengal, the strong development of the convective clouds and the reminant of low-pressure cell over the coast of middle Vietnam such as rain or thundershowers are likely to be scattered in Magway and lower Sagaing regions and Kayah State and fairly widespread to widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, upper Sagaing, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi regions and Kachin, Kayin and Mon states with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Nay Pyi Taw, Bago, upper Sagaing, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi regions and Kachin, Kayin and Mon states from today morning to 17 September 2026.
The squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along the Myanmar Coasts. The surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 miles per hour. The wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along the Myanmar Coasts.
