Led by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing, the high-level Myanmar delegation departed for Myanmar yesterday evening from Siem Reap Angkor International Airport in Siem Reap after concluding a State Visit to Cambodia at the invitation of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni.
The President and his delegation were warmly seen off at the airport by Siem Reap Provincial Governor Mr Prak Sophoan and officials; Cambodian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Cheng Manith; Myanmar Ambassador to Cambodia U Kyaw Soe Min; Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Zaw Win; and family members of embassy staff and personnel from the Military Attaché Office.
During the farewell, a Cambodian girl presented a commemorative bouquet, while students warmly waved small flags of both countries alongside portraits of President U Min Aung Hlaing and His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni.
Accompanying the President on the return journey were Union ministers, the chief minister of Mandalay Region, the chief minister of Mon State, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, deputy ministers, and relevant officials who were part of the delegation.
During the visit, the President met Cambodia’s Acting Head of State and Senate President Samdech Hun Sen, held bilateral talks, and met the Prime Minister and President of the National Assembly of Cambodia. During these meetings, they cordially and openly exchanged views on strengthening the existing friendly ties between Myanmar and Cambodia, enhancing mutual cooperation between the two governments, parliaments and peoples, and expanding collaboration across various sectors, including the economic, cultural and tourism sectors. They also visited historic landmarks and ancient cultural sites in Cambodia.
Subsequently, the high-level Myanmar delegation led by President U Min Aung Hlaing returned to Nay Pyi Taw Airport in the evening. They were warmly welcomed back at the airport by Vice-President U Nyo Saw, Vice-President Nan Ni Ni Aye, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, Union ministers, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, and officials from the Cambodian Embassy and Military Attaché Office in Myanmar. — MNA/TH
