Repair works are being carried out on 208 partially damaged buildings of 39 district- and township-level departments in Falam District that were damaged due to terrorist incidents, using K9,601.26827 million of the National Disaster Management Fund. These repair works, being undertaken by 148 companies, commenced on 3 August, said Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thant Zaw Lwin during a meeting with departmental officials at the City Hall in Falam yesterday morning.
Moreover, the repair works on the remaining 50 partially damaged buildings and 72 completely damaged buildings will be carried out under the arrangements of the respective departments.
After the meeting, the deputy minister and relevant officials inspected the repair works on office buildings of Falam district and township development department, Falam township fire services department, the No 1 BEHS school building and building of district road department and cleanliness activities in the compound of Falam general hospital.
They also met relevant officials of the temporary hospital at City Hall and observed the healthcare services.
