THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, opened a free motorcycle repair training course in Sanphu Village, Hopong Township, yesterday to support rural livelihoods, create employment opportunities and increase family incomes during the 2026-2027 financial year.

Pa-O Self-Administered Zone Leading Body Executive Member (Economy) U Khun Nyo Maung delivered opening remarks. Hopong Township Department of Rural Development Head U Soe Lwin Myint explained that the department assesses local products, market demands, labour requirements and local suitability prior to offering vocational courses. Zone leading body members, the Township Management and Administration Committee chairman and officials then provided training materials to trainees.
A total of 20 trainees from Sanphu Village are attending the 30-day course, where two instructors will provide theoretical and practical lessons on motorcycle repair. — Maung Khaing (Rural)
