Every country around the world is striving for economic strength, and Myanmar is likewise utilizing all available resources and opportunities to strengthen its economy. However, due to economic and political sanctions imposed on the country by certain nations, growth has been delayed rather than progressing as much as it should.
A government holds the primary responsibility to foster national economic development, and it can only become one that the public trusts and relies upon if it can advance both the national economy and the socioeconomic lives of its people. Amid political and economic sanctions, the government is actively working through the best possible means to overcome these challenges and drive national economic progress.
In accordance with the motto “the nation’s strength lies within”, all the people cannot rely on foreign grants and loans; instead, they must leverage all available domestic resources to promote local manufacturing and drive the economic growth of the nation.
To achieve this, our country is already endowed with favourable soil and water resources as well as solid foundations to undertake agricultural, livestock, and production enterprises. The primary requirements now are to genuinely put in the work and for all national ethnic brethren to unite to build peace and stability. The relevant Union ministries, as well as region and state governments, must focus on advancing agro- and livestock-based industrial manufacturing. Furthermore, in carrying out production enterprises, rather than extracting above-ground and underground natural resources and minerals, priority must be placed on successfully implementing production activities based on renewable agriculture and livestock farming.
The relevant region and state governments should establish and designate agricultural and livestock zones to support local farmers and breeders, while the relevant departments must distribute technical know-how and input supplies to strive for increased agro-livestock production. These products must be distributed and sold for local consumption, and any surplus should be shared and exported to other regions and states to ensure food security and self-sufficiency.
Therefore, it is imperative to drive national economic growth by boosting domestic manufacturing and expanding the export sector. In doing so, priority must be given to supporting manufacturing enterprises that primarily utilize domestic raw materials, ensuring the production of import-substitution goods while also striving to increase exports.
That is why efforts must be made to find ways to ensure success in each respective sector, and work must be carried out with full dedication and enthusiasm for the development of the national economy and the improvement of the socioeconomic lives of the people
