President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing returns the fareware salute from the Guard of Honour of the Russian Federation at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow before leaving for Belarus.

The high-level Myanmar delegation led by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing, who had completed the official visit to the Russian Federation at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Mr Vladimir Putin, left Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow at 8 am local standard time yesterday for Minsk in Belarus to pay an official visit to the Republic of Belarus at the invitation of Belarusian President Mr Aleksandr Lukashenko.
The President of Myanmar and entourage were seen off at the airport by Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Andrey Rudenko, and officials with the Guard of Honour of the Russian Federation.
The President took the salute of the Guard of Honour, which played the national anthems of Myanmar and Russia. The President left for Belarus by special aircraft.
At 9:45 am local standard time, the high-level Myanmar delegation led by the President arrived at Minsk International Airport of Belarus. They were warmly welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Mr Viktor Karankievch of Belarus, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Sergey Lukashevich and officials of the Belarusian Cabinet, the Belarusian Ambassador to Myanmar, Myanmar Ambassador to Belarus U Maung Maung Soe and officials.At the airport, the Guard of Honour of the Republic of Belarus accorded a ceremonial welcome to President U Min Aung Hlaing in accordance with the tradition of welcoming Heads of State making state-level goodwill visits.
The President laid a wreath to pay tribute at the Victory Monument in Minsk where the Guard of Honour of Belarus played the national anthems of Myanmar and Belarus.
After taking the salute of the Guard of Honour, the President cordially greeted officials.
The Victory Monument was built as a historic landmark in Minsk in 1954, dedicated to soldiers of Soviet and Belarusian guerrillas who sacrificed their lives for their country while fighting Nazi invaders in World War II. The lasting peace flame is being lit at the foot of the 38-metre-high monument dedicated to the fallen soldiers. The monument is a location where international diplomats and State leaders pay tribute. — MNA/TTA
