AS its first activity since officially changing its name from MIFFA to the Myanmar Logistics Association (MLA), the association held a ceremony at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Yangon to mark its acceptance as an official member of the Geneva-based International Road Transport Union (IRU).
MLA said it will continue trying for further development in international road transport and cross-border transport in cooperation with IRU. Mr Ran Wang and Ms Erhan Cheng from IRU introduced their future cooperation and capacity-building programmes.
The MLA chair greeted the guests and delivered a presentation about their plans and needs. MLA vice-chair Daw Ohnmar Maw talked about MLA history and objectives, and the general secretary explained MLA’s ongoing projects, cooperation with local and foreign stakeholders and their ambitious plan for digital transformation of the logistics industry.
The education committee and respective committees expressed their future cooperation in training programmes, challenges and opportunities and next steps. — MT/ZS
