MYANMAR’S rising equestrian athlete Poe Poe Han was honoured on 9 August after winning a silver medal at the Ma­laysian Prime Minister’s Cup CSIJ-B equestrian competition.

Held in Malaysia from 24 to 26 July, the event featured 17 com­petitors from 14 coun­tries, with Poe Poe Han finishing second.

At a ceremony held at the Myanmar Eques­trian Federation Club­house in Dagon Myothit (North) Township, feder­ation President U Pyone Maung Maung present­ed a photograph and a plaque commemorating Poe Poe Han’s achieve­ment for display in the MEF Hall of Fame. The family of President U Pyone Maung Maung and Academy Award winner Khin Thida Tun also awarded her K7.4 million in scholarships and financial support for the 2027-2029 academic years.

Team captain Chan Myae Win, head coach Ei Thet Mon and assistant coach Aung Thu Tun also received certificates and gifts. In addition, the as­sistant coach was award­ed K1 million in recogni­tion of his contribution. — TWA/KZL
