The government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar held a Waso robe-offering ceremony for 2026 at the Aggadhipati Sasana Beikman building in the precinct of Maravijaya Buddha Park in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, yesterday morning, attended by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla.
The President paid homage to the Maravijaya Naungdawgyi Buddha image in the building and offered meals, fruits, flowers, water and oil light.
The President, his wife and the congregation took the Nine Precepts from Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Thinlyin Minkyaung Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Aggamaha Pandita Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa while members of the Sangha recited Parittas.
The President and his wife donated Waso robes and offerings to the Chairman Sayadaw.
Vice-President U Nyo Saw and his wife offered Waso robes and offerings to SSMNC Secretary Mandalay’s Masoeyein Taikthit Presiding Patron Dhamma Thameikdi Monastery Sayadaw Aggamaha Pandita Aggamaha Saddhammajotikadhaja Maha Dhammakathika Bahujanahitadhara Bhaddanta Vasettha Bhivamsa.
Pyithu and Amyotha Hluttaw Speakers and their wives, the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and his wife, the Chairman of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union, the Chairman of the Union Election Commission, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief, (Army), the Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker and Union ministers donated Waso robes and alms to members of the Sangha.
The Secretary Sayadaw delivered a sermon while the congregation shared merits for donations. The President, his wife and officials offered day meals to members of the Sangha
