A reading promotion event featuring a literary talk, quiz competitions, and educational games was held yesterday morning at Basic Education Middle School No 3 in Dawbon Township, Botahtaung District.
The event was jointly organized by the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) and the Department of Basic Education.
During the programme, IPRD Staff Officer Daw Chit Su Wai delivered a talk titled “The Benefits of Reading”, explaining the differences between non-fiction and literary works and highlighting the educational and personal benefits of regular reading.
Students also took part in a variety of competitions, including a knowledge quiz, a proverb-completion game, and a paper cup stacking contest. Winners received prizes from event organizers.
The event also showcased educational wall displays and a book exhibition organized by the IPRD, which drew keen interest from both students and visitors as they explored the materials.
