Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and Commander-in-Chief (Army) General Kyaw Swa Lin, met officers, other ranks and their families of Myeik garrison and Kyunsu station at the station halls separately yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, the General said that members of the different units of Army, Navy and Air are all serving the nation with the spirit of brotherhood. Referring to political developments since 2021, he stated that while the Tatmadaw assumed the State responsibilities, some groups chose armed violence instead of political solutions, and therefore Tatmadaw has been cooperating with the Myanmar Police Force and peace-loving citizens to maintain State stability and security in accordance with the law.
He also noted that following the free and fair multiparty democratic general elections held in December 2025 and January 2026, a new government elected by the people emerged and was now accelerating national development efforts whereas the Tatmadaw continues to faithfully perform its duties under the leadership of the government.
He continued that Tatmadaw members must uphold and live in accordance with the Four Oaths and take pride in their duty of safeguarding the Three Main National Causes. They are responsible for protecting the nation’s sovereignty and valuable natural resources.
To fulfil these responsibilities effectively, all officers and soldiers must continuously enhance their individual capabilities, study modern military knowledge and tactics, and make effective use of military equipment and technology. By doing so, they can build a capable military that earns the trust and confidence of both the nation and its people.
He also highlighted the importance of leadership, saying that commanders must provide sound guidance and leadership to their subordinates in order to achieve organizational objectives successfully.
He added that external-backed groups seeking their own interests continue attempts to weaken Tatmadaw through various means. He called on Tatmadaw personnel to remain disciplined, united, and committed to protecting national resources, strategic projects such as the Dawei Deep-Sea Port, and major transportation routes including the Ye-Dawei-Myeik-Bokpyin-Kawthoung highway. He also stressed the need to counter threats posed by the insurgent groups disrupting public security.
He stated that Tatmadaw is taking effective action against drug trafficking, illegal online gambling operations, smuggling, and other unlawful activities, and that those involved would face legal action in accordance with the law. Preventive measures are also being conducted by Tatmadaw as the illegally imported goods and illegal trading cause losses to the State budges and revenues.
He also spoke about the welfare of Tatmadaw families, encouraging them to manage household finances responsibly, maintain healthy lifestyles, and prioritize the education of their children. He emphasized the Head of the State’s focus on improving educational standards and encouraged parents to support their children in becoming a better-educated generation.
Regarding the organizational measures, he stressed the importance of strong internal and external cohesion, mutual respect, and effective administration. He called on the Tatmadaw members and their families to remain united and faithfully carry out their respective responsibilities.
