The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw continued for the third day at its convention hall of the Hluttaw Complex in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning, attended by 552 out of 560 Hluttaw representatives.
On the occasion, Deputy Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Jang Phang Naw Taung (aka) U Naw Taung explained the purpose of setting up the Myanmar Parliamentary Union (MPU).
Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe announced the plan to establish the Myanmar Parliamentary Union (MPU )with Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe as Chair, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi as Vice-Chair, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker Jang Phang Naw Taung (aka) U Naw Taung as Secretary, Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Ohn as member, together with speakers of region and state Hluttaws. The approval will be sought from the Hluttaw for the formation of the union on the fourth day of the session.
The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker then announced the plan to form the Joint Committee on ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) with U Chit Swe from the Ayeyawady Region Constituency 10 as Chairman, and the Joint Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Union-IPU with Dr Pwint San from the Yaksawk Constituency as Chairman. The approval for formations will be sought from the Hluttaw on the fourth-day session.
The Speaker announced the replacement of members at the Joint Bill Committee, the Joint Public Accounts Committee, and the Representative Scrutiny Committee.
The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw will inform the representatives about the date of convening its fourth-day session.
