Basic education schools across the country reopened yesterday for the 2026-2027 academic year, and teaching activities have also commenced at schools throughout Tiddim Township in Chin State.
At 10 am yesterday, Chairman of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Than Soe, the Committee’s Vice-Chairman and Chin State Minister for Security and Border Affairs Col Khin Maung Htwe and the deputy director-general of the Department of Basic Education visited Basic Education High School No 1 in Tiddim to observe and encourage students and teachers as classes began.
According to the Tiddim District Education Office, a total of 10,457 students from KG to Grade 12 are currently attending schools in Tiddim Township, and 1,706 students in Tonzang Township.
