THE Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Loilem District, disbursed K36.5 million from the Green Village Project revolving fund to residents of Kaungngo and Kaunglan villages in Loilem Township on Friday morning.
The project aims to create job opportunities and increase family incomes for rural people, thereby reducing poverty in rural areas. Township Staff Officer Daw Tin Min Htike first met project members from both villages and explained the project guidelines and benefits. Project officials and staff then clarified the project procedures, interest rates, loan terms and conditions, and regulations to be followed when receiving the loans.
Afterwards, under the supervision of the Loilem Township Department of Rural Development, project committee members disbursed K24.5 million to 19 members from Kaungngo village and K12 million to 11 members from Kaunglan village at low interest rates for agriculture, livestock breeding and trading businesses.
