Officials from the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development conducted a field inspection on 27 May at Thudawgon Village, Pathein Township, to monitor the ongoing vocational basic motorcycle repair and maintenance training being implemented for the 2026-2027 financial year.
The training programme aims to provide rural residents with practical vocational skills that can support livelihood opportunities and self-employment.
Director-General U Myo Naing Aung of the Department of Rural Development, Director U Nay Htet Shein, Deputy Director U Zeya Zaw Myo, and Pathein Township Head Daw Thi Thi Aung, together with village officials, visited the training site and observed trainees participating in practical lessons.
The director-general also met trainees and encouraged them to seriously study and practice the technical skills during the training period so they would be able to establish their own businesses in the future. He also stressed the importance of completing the course within the designated period and coordinated necessary support based on village needs.
According to officials, the Pathein Township Department of Rural Development is providing the training free of charge from 1 to 30 May this year over a 30-day period to create employment opportunities suited to local conditions for rural communities.
A total of 20 trainees from 10 villages, namely Thudawgon, Kanni, Hlegyawgon, Tunpalun, Wunthay, Phayagon, Zeegon, Kyakandaunt, Kyaungpangon, and Einchaunglay villages, are attending the training course. — Sein Lwin (Rural)
