The Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Kunhing Township, Shan State (South), held a ceremony on 27 May in Hokyel Village, to disburse Green Village Project revolving funds.
At the ceremony, Township Head of the Department of Rural Development U Aung Kyaw Hein explained that the revolving funds were being provided with the objectives of creating employment opportunities and increasing household incomes for rural residents, as well as implementing village development activities through the increased project funds.
The project officer then explained the interest rates, repayment periods, and regulations to be followed in the loan disbursement process before transferring K48.7 million in Green Village Project revolving funds to members of the project committee in Hokyel Village.
Following this, under the supervision of the Kunhing Township Department of Rural Development, members of the Green Village Project committee disbursed low-interest revolving funds totalling K48.7 million directly to 24 beneficiaries in Hokyel Village. Among them, 17 agricultural workers received K32.2 million, while seven traders received K16.5 million. — Cho Than Nyunt (Rural)
