Officials from the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, conducted a preliminary field inspection yesterday in Shachaung Village, Lewe Township, for the planned construction of a rural production road, bridges, and an inner-village concrete road aimed at benefiting local farmlands and improving transport of agricultural products.
The projects are intended to help rural residents transport agricultural produce from farmlands to markets more efficiently and at a lower cost.
During the inspection, Lewe District Head of the Department of Rural Development, U Myo Tint, and officials examined ground conditions for the construction of a rural production road measuring 2,750 feet in length, 12 feet in width, and nine inches in thickness. The proposed project also includes the construction of three slab culverts and two pipe culverts along the road.
Officials also conducted measurements and inspections for a planned village concrete road measuring 1,580 feet in length, 12 feet in width, and seven inches in thickness in Shachaung Village.
Following the inspection, the district head met village elders, local communities, and responsible officials to discuss implementation plans for the 2026-2027 financial year and coordinated necessary support based on the needs presented by the village community.
According to officials, the rural production road, bridges, and village concrete road projects will be implemented during the 2026-2027 financial year with technical assistance and close supervision from district and township Department of Rural Development staff.
