Myanmar authorities have detained four foreign nationals in ongoing investigations into online scam operations in border areas, official reports said.
The detainees include two Filipinos, one Nepali and one Indonesian, who allegedly entered illegally through border routes and were linked to scam-related activities in areas near Myawady, Kayin State.
Officials said investigations and verification processes are ongoing, and arrangements are being made for their repatriation in line with legal procedures.
Authorities also stated that thousands of foreign nationals involved in similar cases have been detained and deported in recent months as part of continued action against online scam networks.
