Officials from the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Shan State (East), Mongyan District, conducted a field inspection yesterday in Wanawei Village and Mongloi (Lower) Village, Mongyan Township, to assess the successful implementation of income-generating activities supported by the Green Village Project revolving fund.
During the inspection, Township Head of the Department of Rural Development U Thet Lin Htun, together with officials, reviewed the progress of agricultural, livestock, small-scale business, and trading activities being implemented with project revolving funds in the two villages.
Officials also met members of the Green Village Project committees and checked the completeness and accuracy of monthly financial reporting forms. The Township Head encouraged villagers to further expand small-scale household enterprises in order to increase family income and improve livelihoods.
According to officials, the Green Village Project has been implemented in Wanawei and Mongloi (Lower) villages since the 2014-2015 financial year. A total revolving fund of K25 million has been provided as soft loans to 10 members, and the project continues to operate successfully, supporting sustainable community-based livelihood development.
