APPLICATIONS are now open for “YCS Cohort 19”, Mandalay’s first Young City Shapers Programme. Jointly organised by Doh Eain and KBZ Bank, this initiative is designed for young people interested in urban development, according to Young City Shapers.
This 19th edition marks the first time the programme is being held in Mandalay. Under the theme “Disaster Risk Preparedness and Management”, it will cover several key topics, including disaster management, sustainable housing, the role of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in disaster management, disaster preparedness and communication, and youth and community engagement.
The duration is three months from June to August, and it will include practical mini-projects and theoretical sessions in the Myanmar language, scheduled from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm on Thursdays and Fridays. The programme will use a hybrid model, a blend of in-person and online learning. Only 30 participants will be selected, and it is open to youth under the age of 35. Interested individuals can fill out the application form via the link: Young City Shapers Application by 2 June.
Applicants will undergo an online interview, and selected participants will be notified via email.
