THE Comprehensive Geriatric Care Outpatient Department at the Yangon General Hospital (YGH) Specialist Outpatient Clinic will be open every Wednesday starting 20 May, according to hospital officials.
The hospital has announced that this new department will operate from 9 am to noon every Wednesday.
Following the launch, professors and senior specialists from six medical departments – General Medicine, Diabetology and Endocrinology, Orthopaedic and Traumatology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dermatology, and Dental and Oral Surgery – will provide onestop medical treatment for elderly patients.
In addition, YGH’s Specialist Outpatient Clinic currently operates a Hepatitis C Clinic from 1 pm to 4 pm every Friday. This clinic provides free ongoing care and treatment for individuals already diagnosed with hepatitis C, including viral load testing, antiviral treatment, and a follow-up screening three months after completing treatment to evaluate its success. — MT/ZN
