THE Media Development Committee of the Myanmar Press Council opened Media Training Course 7/2026 at the council office in Botahtaung Township on 18 May.

At the opening ceremony, Council Chairman Dr Tin Tun Oo delivered the opening remarks and welcomed the trainees, while Second Vice-Chairman U Khin Maung Kyaw Din explained the importance of continuously conducting media training programmes for the development of the media sector.

Course Director and Council First Secretary U Sein Toe explained the subjects to be taught and the attendance requirements for trainees. A total of 30 trainees are attending the course.

Subjects include media proficiency, professional journalism, media and international affairs, news translation, digital literacy, printing and publishing, media law, media and Myanmar’s image, and media and human rights. Lecturers include U Khin Maung Aye (KMA), U Tin Maung Oo (Gyokbinkauk Tin Maung Oo), U Myint Thein (Maung Maung Myint Thein-Sethmu), Dr Khin Maung Lwin (Lanmadaw), U Thiha Baw Zan, U Aung Zaw Myo, U Khin Maung Kyaw Din, U Zaw Lwin Htoo and Daw Mi Mi Khaing.

The committee said that similar media training courses would continue to be conducted, with lectures delivered by council members and external experts. — ASH/KZL
