UNDER the leadership of Dr Aung Lin Aye, Senior Medical Superintendent of Yangon General Hospital, a field medical visit was conducted from 8 am to 4 pm yesterday at No 4 Basic Education High School in Tamway Township, Thingangyun District, Yangon Region, in collaboration with central-level hospitals, to provide necessary healthcare services to more than 800 people.
Specialists, nurses, and other healthcare workers provided medical services under this special programme, conducting examinations and treatments for orthopaedic conditions, surgical diseases, general illnesses, diabetes and endocrine disorders, mental health conditions, skin diseases, maternal and gynaecological conditions, cervical cancer screening, pediatric conditions, eye diseases, dental and oral health, and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) conditions. They also performed lung and chest X-rays, ECGs, and ultrasound examinations. A total of 829 residents from Tamway and nearby townships received consultations, resulting in 1,813 medical examinations and treatments being provided.
The minister for Social Affairs of the Yangon Region government, the chairperson and members of the Thingangyun District Management and Administration Committee, the chairperson and members of the Township Management and Administration Committee, the Yangon Region Hluttaw representative for Tamway Township Constituency 2, the chairperson and members of the Yangon Region Maternal and Child Welfare Supervisory Committee, and relevant officials visited the field activities of the specialized programme yesterday morning and provided necessary assistance. — Naing Lin Aung (IPRD)/TH
