ON the 49th International Museum Day, the Bagan Archaeological Museum allowed domestic and foreign visitors to enter free of charge and organized activities to commemorate the occasion.

On 18 May, marking the 49th International Museum Day, the museum received a total of 464 visitors, including 306 local visitors, one foreign visitor, 30 monks, 35 nuns, 87 students from a private school and five teachers.

Visitors were given explanations about the history of the Bagan Archaeological Museum and the origins of International Museum Day by the museum’s deputy director.

To raise awareness of Bagan’s culture, architecture and cultural heritage, exhibits displayed in the ten exhibition booths were presented by gallery managers and relevant officials.

In addition, monks and students from private schools visiting the archaeological museum asked questions about International Museum Day and the museum’s educational seminars and cultural activities.

Quiz competitions on the history of the exhibits displayed at the Bagan Archaeological Museum were also held, and souvenir prizes were presented to the winning students by the deputy director. — ASH/MKKS
