YE Htun Naung and Phyu Phyu Than won the 2025 Best Male Athlete and Best Female Athlete awards presented by the Myanmar Olympic Committee and the Myanmar Sports Media Federation.
The award ceremony took place yesterday morning at the Sports and Physical Education Institute in Tamway Township. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu delivered an opening address at the event.
Officials later presented awards to Ye Htun Naung for bodybuilding, Phyu Phyu Than for Sepak Takraw and Vice-President U Kyaw Than of the Myanmar Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation for the best administrator and coach award.
Ye Htun Naung said he began competing in bodybuilding in 2014 and later won gold medals at the SouthEast Asian, Asian and world-level championships, including consecutive world titles in Indonesia in 2025. — Bala/KZL
