THE 210-foot moat bridge will be built between the Mawgun gate and the moat across the northern wall of the ancient city, Ketumati.

The land between the moat and the wall is currently being landscaped. The ancient walls and moats of Ketumati ancient city in Toungoo, Bago Region, are invaluable cultural heritage sites, as they are being preserved and excavated annually with the budget of the regional government. It also includes the restoration and preservation of buildings and city gates, carried out in collaboration with relevant departments.

The moat, city walls and buildings, which were built by King Mingyi Nyo over 500 years ago, will be restored and preserved in the current situation, and the ancient city walls, moats and ancient buildings of Toungoo Ketumati, founded by King Maha Thiri Zeyathura Mingyi Nyo (1486-1531 AD), are being taken to preserve them as cultural heritage.

In addition, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, in accordance with the Notification 2/2025, stated that the area where the city walls and moats of the ancient city of Ketumati, Toungoo, Bago Region, was designated as a cultural heritage area on 29 May 2025.
