The Central Tourism Development Centre (CTD) will conduct the 66th Basic Tour Guide Course from 9:30 am to 3:45 pm from Monday to Friday between 15 June and 4 September.
Those who want to attend the course must present the following documents: three colour licensed photos (taken within the last six months), a bachelor’s degree certificate, a citizenship scrutiny card, a health certificate, and a ward/police verification certificate.
The course fee is K250,000. Applications will be accepted from 28 April to 2 May 2026. Individuals can enquire about details at 40/42, Bo Sun Pek Road, between Maha Bandoola Road and Merchant Road, Pabedan Township, Yangon by dialling 01 8377559.
The tour guide course covers basic industry knowledge in tourism, travel industry trends, sustainable and conservation-related lessons, Myanmar travel destinations, the cultural traditions of Myanmar’s ethnic groups, Myanmar’s biodiversity, tour guide professional skills, regulations, and other related knowledge and expertise.
The course is taught by senior tour guides, experts from various associations, and instructors recognized by relevant departments with extensive practical and theoretical backgrounds. Participants will receive a certificate in travel industry studies, which is highly valuable for careers in tourism, including Tour Guide, Tour Leader, Tour Operator, Sales & Marketing, Agency Manager/Owner, Teacher/Trainer, and Customer Service.
Applicants will undergo a screening process and must pass a three-hour entrance exam. Those who pass the entrance exam will be permitted to attend the course. The entrance exam covers Basic Tourism Industry Knowledge, famous travel destinations in Myanmar, and Language Skills.
