INDIA’S wholesale price index (WPI) rose to 2.13 per cent in February, data released by the federal ministry of commerce and industry on Monday said.
According to the ministry statement, the positive rate of inflation in February 2026 is primarily due to the increase in prices of other manufacturing, manufacture of basic metals, non-food articles, food articles and textiles etc.
WPI inflation rate was 1.81 per cent in January and 0.96 per cent in December 2025.
WPI Food inflation rose to 1.85 per cent in February as compared to 1.41 per cent in January.
The index for the primary articles group declined by 0.52 per cent from 193.9 in January to 192.9 in February. The index for the fuel and power group increased by 1.17 per cent from 145.9 in January to 147.6 in February.
The index for the manufactured products group increased by 0.47 per cent from 147.5 in January to 148.2 in February.
