The Shwesettaw Mannchaung Elephant Camp in Minbu Township, Magway Region, has upgraded facilities and prepared elephant dance performances for visitors, said a camp person-in-charge.

The camp was developed as the tourism site on 9 February 2019, with tranquil space, scenic natural beauty of the mountain areas and lush and green serene environment. Smooth transportation, facilitating accessibility and connectivity will enhance tourism experience.

This year, an extraordinary and astonishing display of elephant dances will mesmerize the visitors. Improving facilities such as VIP lounges, 1,900-foot long concrete road inside the camp, planting 4,000 shade trees will be witnessed. Elephant feed is also prepared.

This camp is only two miles away from Shwesettaw Pagoda. The pilgrims can stop in on the camp and relax in nature setting to cultivate inner peace. Visitors can escape life’s worries through nature and enjoy elephant rides and performances. The camp has 14 elephants. Elephant ride is set at K10,000 per tourist and K5,000 per citizen.

Shwesettaw Pagoda Festival celebrating from the 5th waxing of Tabodwe to Myanmar New Year Day (about three months) attracted homegrown visitors and pilgrims from various regions in the previous years.

The camp has bungalows equipped with water and power supply, with the prices ranging from K40,000 to K70,000.
