AGRICULTURE Department notified of holding the Fruit & Vegetable Fair and Competition for three days (from 28 February to 2 March) in Bayintnaung Park in Hlinethaya Township to celebrate the 64th Peasants’ Day that falls on 2 March 2026, according to the Myanmar Fruit, Flower, Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association (MFVP).

Those interested individuals can contact Daw Khin Mar Cho at 09 256303325. This Fair and Competition is aimed at enhancing the agricultural sector and the socioeconomic status of the farmers. Participants need to send sample quantities for the different categories to the evaluation team on 27 February. Those participating in Group 1 must send one guard, one pumpkin, three gourds, five eggplants (same variety), 10 green beans, five cucumbers, one marrow, ten tomatoes, five ridge gourds, ten okras, seven bitter gourds and other vegetables.

Participants in Group 2 must submit seven sweet potatoes, one konjac, ten arrowroots, one wild yam, three cassavas, ten taros, five radishes and other root vegetables. Sample quantity to be sent in Group 3 includes one cabbage, one cauliflower, one broccoli, one Chinese cabbage, one mustard green and others. Regarding fruit samples, one cluster of coconuts (at least seven fruits), one cluster of areca nut, a bunch of banana for various varieties (Pheegyan, Shweni, Yakhine, Theemhwe), one cluster of palm fruit, and other fruits grown in clusters or branches in Group 1, two pomelo (same variety), three citrus, five limes, five lemons, five common guava, three mango and other fruits including branch in Group 2 and two papayas, one pineapple, one jackfruit, one watermelon, muskmelon, other melon groups and fruits in Group 3 are listed.

The submitted vegetables and fruits will be evaluated in line with scoring rules, with 10 points for hygiene and freshness, 20 for size uniformity, 20 for appearance, 20 for sanity, 10 for rare fruits and 20 points for maintaining original shape.
