The Department of Agriculture notified those who remained to pay property tax for buying and selling the coffee project areas in PyinOoLwin need to make payment by 15 January, and failure to do so will lead to blacklisting.
Some of the authorized growers who were granted a permit to execute coffee plantations in vacant, fallow and virgin lands in PyinOoLwin District, Mandalay Region, failed to commence operations in the coffee project area and resold the plot of land. The government gave the green light to land transactions with tax payment as a special programme to grow momentum for coffee farming, declared through staterun newspapers.
Nonetheless, 56 individuals have been found to be evading tax so far. Therefore, they are notified to make payment before 15 January 2026. Failure to make payment will result in blacklisting.The department will continue to declare those business people left to pay.
