Beginning on 1 October, the nationwide population and household census collections are underway, with the census teams conducting operations in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, yesterday morning.
The census teams were involved in collecting data on the population and housing for Union-level dignitaries, Union ministers, and their family members within the Zeyathiri Ward of Zabuthiri Township yesterday morning.
Additionally, the census is being conducted in 22 enumeration areas in Zabuthiri Township, including two locations in Wunnatheikdi, two in Thukhatheikdi, two in Danatheikdi, one in Balatheikdi, two in Mingalatheikdi, two in Bawgatheikdi, one in Nyanatheikdi, two in Pyinnyatheikdi, two in Shwekyapin Ward, one in Thabyaygon Ward, two in Aungzabyu Ward II, and one in Telgyigon Village-tract.
The census will collect information on family members of departmental heads, national staff, and residents in the designated areas, coordinated with the township census oversight committee, ward census committees, and support teams using household questionnaires (68 questions) via mobile tablets. The collected data will be sent to the Nay Pyi Taw office server using the CAPI system.
In Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, the 2024 population and housing census will cover 271 enumeration areas, with 23 supervisors and 88 enumerators assigned according to the designated locations. Ethnic communities are urged to collaborate for their benefit and the nation’s interests.
The census will be conducted from 1 to 15 October. The information gathered on population statistics will serve as the basis for formulating policies and planning related to the country’s social, economic, and administrative matters to ensure balanced and sustainable development. The population and housing census is conducted every ten years.
