THE Government is inviting those involved in various armed groups, including the PDF, to return to the legal framework. Those who do so are provided with necessary assistance and support.
Yesterday, 15 AA members, one PLF member and 12 PDFs, totalling 28 individuals, entered the legal fold with arms and ammunition.
The returnees from different townships of Ayeyawady Region, Rakhine State, Bago Region and Magway Region were handed over to their parents and guardians at a ceremony held at the North-West Command Headquarters.
The returnees handed over 10 rifles, 11 magazines and 191 rounds of assorted ammunition. Officials provided K50 million for the 10 rifles and K8.4 million in assistance for the 28 returnees, totalling K58.4 million, along with other support items.
Those who reentered the legal fold were required to sign pledges, after which they were systematically handed back to their parents and guardians.
There are still individuals who wish to re-enter the legal framework. Those who intend to do so are urged to promptly contact and report to the nearest district or township administrative bodies, military units, or police stations, where they will be welcomed back and provided with necessary assistance. Appropriate cash rewards will be granted for the arms and ammunition.
