The 7th Myanmar-China High-Level Think Tank Forum was held on 21 October in Mangshi, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China.
The forum was held under the theme “Promoting Myanmar-China Agricultural Cooperation to Build a Shared Future Community”.
Myanmar Consul-General in Kunming U Zeyar Myo Myint attended the forum and participated in a panel discussion on “China-Myanmar Agricultural Cooperation”. During the discussion, he highlighted the vital role of the agricultural sector, noted that Myanmar’s Pawsan rice had won the 2026 World’s Best Rice Award, and discussed the market potential of Myanmar’s rice and coffee. He also emphasized the strong prospects for bilateral cooperation in expanding agricultural exports to the Chinese market, promoting trade and investment, developing value-added production, and facilitating technical exchanges.
The forum brought together officials from relevant departments, representatives of research institutions, scholars, and business leaders from Myanmar and China. Participants exchanged views on agricultural cooperation, trade and investment opportunities, and ecological and environmental conservation. — ASH/TH
