The “Myanmar Traditional Festival Market”, where visitors can explore Myanmar’s traditional cultural heritage, foods, handicrafts and performing arts all in one place, will be held for three days from 6 to 8 November at the Yangon Convention Centre (YCC) on Inya Road in Yangon.
The fair is being organized by the Myanmar Cultural Heritage Trust with the aim of reviving traditional foods and handicrafts that are at risk of disappearing, promoting greater appreciation and understanding of Myanmar’s traditional customs, and passing them on to younger generations.
Traditional foods and local products: Visitors will be able to buy and taste authentic Myanmar traditional foods, as well as distinctive traditional dishes and food products from various regions, during the fair.
In addition, practical demonstrations on how to make various traditional snacks will be held for the public, while traditional handicrafts and handmade products from different regions will also be displayed.
At discussion sessions, experienced experts will share their knowledge on topics including “Myanmar Food (A Heritage to Be Passed On)”, “The Essence of the Myanmar Traditional Festival Market” and “Myanmar Food and Nutrition”.
In addition, the San Yay Moe theatrical troupe will perform on 6 November, while Project K will give a performance combining modern and traditional elements on 7 November. On 8 November, lively performances featuring a variety of traditional dances by ethnic nationalities will be presented.
