According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar participated in the 4th Indo-Pacific Business Summit held in Kolkata, India. The fourth Indo-Pacific Business Summit was jointly organized by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India at the Taj Bengal Hotel in Kolkata on 25 September.
During the panel discussion titled “Thought Leadership II: India and its Indo-Pacific Partners: Deepening Economic Cooperation and Strategic Partnerships,” Myanmar Consul-General U Aung Aung Myo Thein participated as an honoured guest and speaker.
During the discussion, views were exchanged on regional economic cooperation and strategic partnerships among the Consuls-General of Myanmar, Japan, Australia, Bangladesh and Nepal, as well as representatives from the ASEAN-India Business Council and Exide Industries.
Participation in international business summits of this kind helps promote Myanmar’s economic policies and favourable trade and investment potential among the regional business community. Such participation also contributes to strengthening international economic diplomacy and promoting foreign investment and tourism in Myanmar through mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, according to reports.
