The government is extending an invitation to those involved in various armed groups, including the PDF, to return to the legal framework. Those who do so are being provided with necessary assistance and support.
A total of 23 PDFs, including 21 males and two females, entered the legal fold yesterday.
The 23 individuals from different townships of Bago Region entered the legal framework and were accepted by responsible officials.
At the handover ceremony, PDF members were handed over to their parents and guardians at Ayechanpyo Hall of the Southern Command Headquarters yesterday.
The returnees handed over five rifles, one pistol and five grenades. The officials presented K25 million for five rifles, K3 million for one pistol, K1.5 million for five grenades, and K4.6 million for 23 returnees at K200,000 each, bringing the total reward money to K34.1 million.
There are still individuals who wish to return to the legal fold. Those who intend to do so are encouraged to promptly contact and report to the nearest Tatmadaw camps or police stations. They will be welcomed and accepted, provided with the necessary assistance and support, and cash rewards for any arms and ammunition. — MNA/KTZH
