VICE-PRESIDENT of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Nyo Saw departed Yangon by air yesterday morning to attend the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo and the 23rd China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit to be held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.
He was accompanied by Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Naing Min Kyaw and relevant officials. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, the commander of the Yangon Command, regional ministers and officials from the Embassy of China in Myanmar saw them off at Yangon International Airport.
In the afternoon, Vice-President U Nyo Saw arrived in Nanning and met Chinese Vice-Premier Mr Ding Xuexiang at Liyuan State Guesthouse.
During the meeting, they discussed the continued implementation of matters negotiated and agreements signed during President U Min Aung Hlaing’s goodwill visit to China, as well as projects being implemented under the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor.
The two sides also exchanged views on bilateral relations, peace and stability in border areas, the promotion of bilateral trade and investment, and cooperation in combatting transnational crimes, including online scams. They also discussed cooperation on regional and international issues.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, Deputy Foreign Minister U Naing Min Kyaw, Myanmar Ambassador to China U Zaw Win Myint and other officials.
In the evening, Vice-President U Nyo Saw attended a welcome dinner hosted by Chinese Vice-Premier Mr Ding Xuexiang at the Liyuan International Conference Centre. — MNA/ST
