CHINESE President Xi Jinping will attend the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi from 12 to 13 September at the invitation of Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Thursday.

Ahead of President Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit to New Delhi for the 18th BRICS Summit, Beijing has called on Indian authorities to maintain a fair and transparent operational climate for Chinese and international businesses.

China on Thursday urged India to ensure a fair, just, transparent and non-discriminatory business environment for foreign enterprises investing and operating in India. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun told a regular press briefing that China-India economic and trade cooperation is mutually beneficial and win-win in nature.
